The suburb of Argasi, immersed in lush natural surroundings and in the shade of Mt. Skopos, is nowadays one of the island's cosmopolitan centres and succeeds in attracting many visitors from Greece and abroad.
The road that cuts through the village is fringed on both sides by taverns, bars, hotels and rooms-to-let which, together with the endless crowds, lend it a truly lively spirit.
The sandy beach which runs alongside the village is ideal for a swim close to town.
The area surrounding Argasi is rich in churches, most of which are nowadays deserted as time and earthquakes proved to have had a stronger hand!
